Iain Stewart is a Scottish based photographer, who combines his commercial studio and location practice for national Design Agencies and Publishing Houses with a high profile International career as an exhibiting Fine Artist.

Iain‘s photography career began in 1990 as an editorial photographer for Scotland On Sunday, at the time Scotland’s’ biggest selling Sunday independent newspaper. He went on to work for The Independent, The Scotsman, iD and GQ Magazine before carving out his current successful career as a commercial photographer for UK design agencies, publishers, government and health agencies.

Iain’s Land and Seascape work is Internationally exhibited and collected. In the UK his work is available via The Photographers’ Gallery in London. Iain shows regularly in the USA, featuring in exhibitions alongside artists including Hiroshi Sugimoto and Robert Adams. He is represented there by Julie Saul Gallery in New York and G Gibson in Seattle. Works are also available through Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta, Kevin Longino in Connecticut and also from Stephen Bulger in Toronto.

Iain Stewart was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1967, the son of two Scottish medical practitioners. In the early 1980’s he returned to Scotland to study at Edinburgh College of Art, where went on to lecture in Photography for over 15 years. Iain lives in Edinburgh with his wife and two sons.
